NDP Preview 2008
Choristers involved in NDP,
Please report at 11.30 am on 2 August 2008 (Saturday).
If you wish to have extra practice before the big show, you may come at 9.30 am.
Remember to bring your costumes: shirt, pants, pink cap, pink shoes and white gloves.
Do take note the following important points.
1) Please dance and sing at the same time. Feedback has been given that some pupils are still not singing.
2) Know the dance steps and lyrics for all songs very, very well. Some pupils were observed to be lost in their own world with regard to the dance steps.
3) You will not only be on national TV, but across the internet as well. We do have Singaporeans who are overseas who will tune in to watch. At the same time, people from other countries will get to see it too.
4) Pupils who are still unsure of lyrics and dance steps will not be allowed to perform on the stage on 2 Aug and 9 Aug - they will only spoil the entire performance. This is only fair to those who have been putting in a lot of effort in practising.
Hence, I urge all to be alert. Watch if your own movements match others' movements. Don't be too fast or too slow in your steps. Listen to the rhythm of the music and move with the rhythm. Don't just do the actions without hearing the rhythm.
Most definitely, please sing! Do memorise the lyrics if you haven't done so already.
Last but not least, put on your most radiant smile and have loads of fun!
I promise you, when you do ALL the above, you will naturally put in your 200% and you will love it!
Okay, people, brace yourselves for the big show!

Lower Sec Assembly on 28 July 08
Choristers involved in NDP 2008 will be performing at the Lower Secondary Assembly on 28 July 2008, this coming Monday, for the Shenyang visitors. You need NOT perform at the Upper Secondary Assembly.
You will be excused from lessons at 11.20 am. Please report to the Music Room ASAP. You have to change into your NDP costumes, so please remember to bring only your shirt and pants; caps, shoes and gloves are NOT needed.
Please take note of the timing below. We are running a very tight schedule, so do be quick.
If you've any questions, you may send me a message via SMS or MSN. Alternatively, you could drop a tag here.
After the performance, Choir training starts as usual at 3.30 pm. (Please read the blog entry on 21 July to see the programme for the coming Monday's practice.)

Some Announcements
Dear all,
Here are some announcements to take note of.
1) NDP Rehearsal
There is no NDP Rehearsal this coming Sat (26 July). Please have a good rest or catch up with your school work.
2) Performance for Lower Sec Assembly next Mon (28 July)
Choristers involved in NDP will be performing for visitors from Shenyang. We'll be performing only 2 songs (you should know which ones by now after today's practice). You will be informed of the timing for rehearsal, so please keep your eyes and ears open.
3) Choir Practice next Mon (28 July)
ALL Sec 1-3 choristers (NDP and non-NDP ones) are to attend this practice.
The programme is as follows:
3.30 pm: Vocal warm-up
4.15 pm: Learn new song 'Homeward Bound'.
5.00 pm: Non-NDP choristers will be dismissed while NDP choristers will stay on to practise.
6.00 pm: NDP choristers will be dismissed.
Please note that the songs learnt from 28 July onwards will be used for upcoming events (which I will tell you about soon) in Semester 2 and are possible songs for SYF 2009. Do come prepared for the training. We need EVERYONE to be committed and enthusiastic!

TIME: 3 P.M ( if assembly end late, pls report to music rm immediately)
( PLS BE PUNCTUAL AS WE NEED TO WARM UP OUR VOICES)
NOTE: PLS EAT DURING RECESS! BUY A SANDWICH DURING RECESS AS THERE MIGHT NOT HAVE TIME TO BUY AFTER ASSEMBLY( upper sec) as u can eat on the way to the hotel.
We must leave school by 4p.m and we will change in the hotel.

Reporting venue: School foyer
Attire: NDP costume + pink cap + pink shoes + white ankle socks (with NO LOGOS)
Things to bring: Props + bottled water
Venue of event: Floating platform @ Marina Bay
Showtime: 5 pm to 8.30 pm
Dismissal time: 10 pm latest
There were some negative feedback given for NE Show 1. Hence, please remember what I mentioned during practice this afternoon. Don't let all our efforts go to waste.
As usual, please have a good meal before you report to school tomorrow. Have a good rest tonight.

NE Show 1
To all NDP Choir participants,
Please note the following.
Event: NE Show 1
Date: 5 July 2008 (Sat)
Reporting time: 12.15 pm
Reporting venue: School foyer
Attire: NDP costume + pink cap + pink shoes + white ankle socks (with NO logos); you may wear your PE attire to school and change into the NDP attire in school - if you find it embarrassing to be seen like that in public on your way to school
Things to bring: Props (excluding the 2 wooden sticks) in prop bag + bottled water + handphone
Venue of event: Floating platform @ Marina Bay
Showtime: 5 pm - 8.30 pm (judging from the timings during rehearsals)
I'm not sure what time we will get to board the bus. Possibly around 9.30 pm or later. You could send a message to your parents via SMS at the time of boarding so that they will roughly know what time to pick you up in school.
Please drink barrels of water on Friday and eat a healthy brunch/lunch on Saturday morning before you report at school.
